Kathy Edens, 50, of Charleston passed away November 8, 2009 at home after a long illness.
Kathy was an account executive with Grimm-Kellmeyer-Garlow Insurance Agency, where she adored her job. Kathy loved flowers, animals, being on her farm, baling hay on her tractor, and especially loved her cows. She was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church, Columbus, Ohio. She attended the Trinity Lutheran Church, Charleston. Kathy was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan.
Preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lois McWhirter; and father and mother-in-law, Romie Edens Sr., and Jenny Edens.
Left to cherish her memory are loving spouse of seven years, Romie Edens, Jr. at home; four legged kids, Doodle and Nicknack at home; brother, Richard C. McWhirter, Jr. of Columbus, OH; niece, Crystal McWhirter; nephew, Jacob McWhirter; brother-in-law, Carl Edens of Charleston; cousins, Melanie Stevens of Lexington, OH, and Lee Anne Morales of Albuquerque, NM.
The funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, November 11 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Richard Mahan officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6-9pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank HospiceCare, and Duke Medical Center for their wonderful care of Kathy. Also, special thanks to Grimm-Kellmeyer-Garlow for their support and care during Kathy''s illness.
