Juanita "Camille" Burgess, 83, of Sissonville, WV, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was cherished by all who had the honor of knowing her. She was born on November 20, 1941, to George "Tennessee" Cantrell and Irene Harrison Cantrell, who preceded her in death. Camille was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 48 years, David Lee "Tony" Burgess. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, April (Ed) Given, and her son, Rodney (Susan) Burgess. She had two grandchildren, Hannah (Tyler) Deel the apple of her eye, and a great-granddaughter, Sophie Deel. Just this year, she had the honor of seeing Hannah get married and the arrival of her great-grandson, Riley Parker Deel; and Evan Given, who gave her her first great-grandchildren, Bradyn and Katheryn Given. Also left to mourn her passing is her special friend/caregiver, Joy Kelley.

Camille graduated from Dunbar High School, where she met the love of her life. She was a homemaker and raised their two children in the home she and Tony built in Sissonville. She loved cutting grass and planting flowers. She also loved to travel and take trips with April and Ed, visiting D.C., Maine, New York, Niagara Falls, Canada, St. John U.S. Virgin Islands, the WV mountains, and many other destinations. She would discuss any sports, but mostly football, with Rodney. They would talk for hours once they got started. Camille was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Sissonville where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving in whatever capacity she could for the Lord.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Long & Fisher Funeral Home located at 6837 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville, WV 25320 with Pastor Kevin Bartlett officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memory.
