Josephine Lucy Smith, 91, of Sissonville passed away September 10, 2016 at Oakridge Center after a short illness.

Josephine was born April 14, 1925 to the late Joseph and Katie Pepe. She worked as a waitress and cook, and was a loving mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Tuppers Valley Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by sons, Kenneth, Joseph, James, and Denzil Smith Jr.; great-grand-daughter, Kelcey Tucker; grandson, Kenneth Smith Jr.; brothers, Freddie, Jimmy, Steve, and Patsey; sisters, Mary, Lena, Grace, Rosie, and Theresa; and son-in-law, Bill Young Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are ex-husband, Garnie Denzil Smith of Sissonville; children, Sandy McFarland (Buddy Burford), Patty Young, Kathy Morris (Chuck), Steven Michael Smith (Delane), and Rick Smith (Brenda) all of Sissonville; sister, Flora Antigo of Wellsburg; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Service will be 2pm Thursday, September 15 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Randy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.

A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8pm Wednesday, September 14 and two hours before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
