Johnny Lee Tate Sr., 73, passed away on May 3, 2021, in Charleston, WV. He retired from Waste Management as a diesel mechanic, and was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County. Johnny Tate Sr. had a passion for working on cars and being in the company of family and friends. His family will miss him dearly.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Denise Tate. Surviving are; sons, Johnny Beane of Charleston, Johnny Tate Jr. of Charleston, and Jeremy Tate of Haymarket, VA; grandchildren, Johnny "JD", Joey, Janice, Jaelyn, and Jackson Beane, Jamison Frazier, Madison and Garrett Blankenship, and Brody and Callie Tate.

Visitation will be from 11 to 1pm on  Saturday, May 8, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Charleston. Due to Covid, masks are required and social distancing practiced. Burial will immediately follow at Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Grapevine Road, Sissonville. Arrangements entrusted to Long & Fisher Funeral Home.
