John Virgil Tignor, 90, of Sissonville passed away August 26, 2008 in Cedar Ridge Nursing Center. John was a retired machinist for Rish Equipment, St. Albans. He was a member of the Leatherwood Primitive Advent Christian Church, and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lilly Tignor; Daughter, Shirley Tignor; Parents, Charles A. and Bessie Tignor; and Sister, Lottie Smith.
Left to cherish his memory are Sons, Jack Tignor of Cross Lanes, Philip Tignor and his wife Jean, and Charlie Tignor and his wife Carolyn both of Sissonville; Sister, Norma Moffatt and her husband Clay of Sissonville; Six Grandchildren, and two Great Grandchildren; Numerous Nieces and Nephews, and his Church Family.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring staff of Cedar Ridge Nursing Center.
Funeral Service will be 11am Friday, August 29 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Rev. Roger Hammons and Rev. Danny Beckner officiating. Burial will follow in Beane Cemetery, Sissonville.
A gathering of friends and family will be 6-8pm Thursday at the Funeral Home.
