John Franklin Fisher, age 86 of Charleston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Eastbrook Nursing facility in Charleston following an extended illness.
A native of Charleston all his life being born on the 31st day of August 1927 to the late George H. Fisher and Nellie Cunningham Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He also served our country in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Fisher; and a son, Dana Franklin Fisher.
Those surviving include a son, Craig Steven Fisher; brother, Billy E. Fisher of Charleston; sisters, Edna Monday of Sissonville, Betty Ray of Charleston, and Bernice Woods of Kenna; daughter-in-law Claudia Fisher.
Services to celebrate the life of John will be conducted at 12pm Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home Chapel in Sissonville with Rev. Gerald Lanham officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville where military graveside rites will be conducted.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm Saturday at Long and Fisher Funeral Home.
