Joan Elizabeth Patton Patterson, 73 of Sissonville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 13, 2013. She was born December 4, 1939 to the late Arvie Priscilla Patton.

Joan enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers and birds. She was a member of Kanawha Two Mile Bible Church.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by brothers Darrell and William "Torp" Patton and a sister Jewel Scragg.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Clinton Patterson, Sr.; daughter Rene Newcomer and her husband Tom; son, Clint Patterson, Jr. and his wife Misty; grandchildren, Casey, Chase, Courtney, Tyler, Austin and Nicholas; brother James Patton and his wife Barbara; sister-in-law, Barbara Patterson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 PM, Friday August 16 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastors David VanHorn, Bill Bartlett, Eddie Patterson and Greg Moles officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday August 15 at the funeral home.
