Jeanne Elaine Brown-Atkins, 55, of Sissonville, West Virginia passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026, after enduring a short illness with grace and courage.
Jeanne was adored by all of her kids at Sissonville Elementary, and Flinn Elementary prior, where she worked as the cafeteria manager.
She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Terry Atkins, father Durand Brown (Geneva), stepfather Richard Barker, grandmother Tressie Barker, father-in-law Elmo Atkins, brother Steve Workman, daughter Kaylee Elaine Brown-Samms (Aaron), sons Russell Atkins (Brandi) and Randall Atkins, and the little light of her recent years her grandson Waylon King.
Jeanne is proceeded in death and welcomed into heaven by her mother Edith “Edi” Elaine Barker, grandparents Jimmie and Emma Jean Chaffin, Lucian and Geneva Brown, and mother-in law Brenda Atkins.
The family would like to thank the Ruby Memorial Hospital Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for treating Jeanne and her family with compassion during her stay.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Long and Fisher Funeral home in Sissonville on Friday, June 26, 2026, with visitation 11am-1pm prior to service. Stewart Cottrell will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
