James L. "Tim" Miller, 84, of Ripley was invited home on April 18, 2016 and was reunited with family, friends and loved ones.
Tim proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He then worked as a construction worker.
He was known for his sharp wit, fun loving personality, and freely given hugs, especially to his grandchildren. He was generous to a fault and loved his family tremendously. You never left his home without feeling special. Tim will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. He truly seemed larger than life. Tim was an avid collector of firearms, coins, and sports memorabilia.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Houston Miller; mother, Rita Miller; wife, Sandra Miller; Brothers Bill Miller and Donald Humpreys; and grandson Sean Miller.
He is survived by his son, Ralph Miller, and his daughter Ann Slater, both of Sissonville, their mother, Arlene Miller Hudnall, also of Sissonville and his brother David Miller of Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren Corey, Mark, Michelle and Taran, and 4 great grandchildren including his little buddy Ethan Miller through which the family name will live on.
Funeral Service will be held at noon on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Jake McCartney and Ralph Miller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Burial will immediately follow at Jackson County Memorial Garden in Ripley.
