James Kenneth Shivley, 85, of Sissonville passed away July 18, 2011 at home after a long illness.
Mr. Shivley was a WWII Army Veteran having served his country in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was a recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic from Walker Machinery with 33 years service. He especially enjoyed frequenting Car Shows.
Preceded in death by a son, James Wendell Shivley; and parents, Otto and Stachie Shivley.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Newhouse Shivley at home; children, Kenny Shivley and his wife, Judy, Terry Shivley and Cathy Shivley all of Sissonville; 5 grandchildren and one great grandson.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Thursday, July 21 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Reverend Al Mendez officiating. Burial will follow in Sissonville Memorial Gardens.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
