James K. Petry, 80, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord May 4, 2007 at CAMC General Hospital due to complications from multiple strokes.
James was a loving and devoted Christian who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. James was a member of the Park Avenue Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Minnie Petry.
Survived by: Children, Becky McFarland and Terry Petry both of Sissonville; Brother, Robert Woodrow Petry of Sissonville; Granddaughter, Mellanie McFarland of Charleston; Sister-in-law, Mona Petry of Chesapeake; Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The Funeral Service will be 2pm Tuesday, May 8 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Minister Jerry Alderson officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville with Military Graveside Rites provided by the American Legion Post 61. Friends may call 7-9pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
