Obituary

James William Fisher born October 21, 1924, died April 21, 2009 in Hubbard Hospice House surrounded by loved ones and surviving wife, Betty (Nester) Phillips-Fisher.
James and Betty were married on July 10, 1993 by Rev. Leroy Meadows, and spent fifteen glorious years together. They attended Center Point Church in Liberty. He will be missed by many, many loving family members and friends. James sang with the Fisher Family Quartet for several years and really enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Cottrell Fisher; parents, Russell and Bessie Fisher; and extended family grand-daughter, Shannon Yost.
Survived by two daughters, Loretta Stewart and her husband, Keith, of Sissonville, and Brenda Fisher and her husband, Charlie, of Sissonville; five grandchildren, Keitha-Lynn Sabal and her husband, Mark, of Sissonville, Jason Stewart and his wife, Jessica, of Kenna, Tabitha Davis and her husband, Aaron, of Sissonville, Aaron Fisher, and Arica Fisher both of Sissonville; seven great grandchildren, Spencer Sabal, Owen and Laila Davis, and the Sabal quadruplets (due in the fall); six brothers and sisters, Charles Fisher and his wife, Frances, Everett Fisher and his wife, Jenny, Sebert Fisher and his wife, Tillie, Nealie Parsons, Effie Burdette and her husband, Ralph, all of Sissonville, and Lelia Dee Wilkinson, of Clemmons, N.C.; extended family children, Linda Kay Hill and her husband, Damon, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robin Phillips and Ed Nutter of Spencer, Joe Phillips and his wife, Pam, of Pinch; extended family grandchildren, Timmy Spradling (whom Betty raised) and his wife, Tess, Craig Spradling and his wife, Adrienne, Dustin Spradling and his wife, Elizabeth, Sarah Adkins, Samantha Phillips, and Kristie Yost; and eleven extended family great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be 4pm Saturday, April 25 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Reverend Leroy Meadows, Alvie Whitt, Sam Kinser, and Shelby Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville, with Military Honors provided by the WV Army National Guard Honor Guard, South Charleston.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service time.
