IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Kevin
Coffman
May 10, 1957 – May 13, 2019
James "Kevin" Coffman, 62, of Sissonville passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on May 13, 2019, after fighting his battle with cancer. Kevin was a 1976 graduate of Sissonville High School, where he was proud to say that his education consisted of reading, writing and Route 21. He enjoyed NASCAR, going hunting, traveling the state, and being with his dogs, Maddie and Heidi. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, uncle and friend. Kevin never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Harding Coffman; his mother, Catherine L. Presson Coffman; his sister, Joyce Cochran; his brother, Gary Coffman; and his good friend and brother in law, Bobby Wayne.
He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 30 years, Karen Wayne Coffman of Sissonville; Daughter Kinzy Coffman (Andrea) and two grandchildren, Eden and Myles Hunt, of South Charleston; his mother-in-law that loved him as her own, Patsy Wayne of Sissonville; sister-in-laws, Dianne Lowry (Frank) of Ripley, Brenda Harrison of Goldtown, and Marsha Coffman of Sissonville; nephews Jamie Miller, Brad Harrison, Trever Hughart, Cole Hughart, and Josiah Hughart, and nieces, Demi Miller, Ginger Harrison, Rachel Coffman, Brandy (Kevin) Hughart, and Adyson Hughart; and many friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Angela Whitman who provided excellent care and guidance to Kevin and his family throughout his battle with cancer. She was more than a doctor to him; she was a friend.
Kevin will be missed by many but never forgotten.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service with Pastor Buddy Mairs officiating. Burial will immediately follow after the service at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
