Obituary

James "Bill" Beckner, 86, of Charleston passed away November 16, 2006 at Home from colon cancer complications.
Bill was retired from Carbide having worked as an insulator. He was a member of the Kelleys Creek Independent Baptist Church and was a WWII Army Veteran.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Volley and Gertie Ann McClanahan Beckner; Sisters, Sylvia Cobb, Beulah Casto, Wilma Withrow; Brothers, Willie Beckner, Hansford Beckner and Arley "Dick" Beckner.
Survived by: Wife, Macel Virginia Harrison Beckner, at home; Children, Carolyn Sue Townsend, Angela Joyce Atkins, Karen Joan Taylor, Deirdre Nannette Felty, and James Randall Beckner all of Charleston; Sisters, Audrey Sergent of Sanford, FL, and Pauline Pickerd of Stevensville, Montana; Brother, Daniel "Cotton" Beckner of Charleston; 4 Grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren and a host of friends.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Saturday, November 18 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with the Rev. Stanley Miller officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. Graveside rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 61, of Clendenin WV. Friends may call 6-8pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
