Jace Darren Patton, age 47, of Sissonville, departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, July 11, 2017, while visiting the home of a friend in Sissonville. He was born September 15, 1969, in Charleston, the beloved son of james and Barbara Patton of Sissonville.
He graduated from Sissonville High School in 1987 and earned an associate degree in applied science from West Virginia State College in 1990. He married Amy Auman in 1990 and they were blessed with a daughter, Megan, in 1993, another daughter, Nicole, in 1995. They later divorced. He was an employee of union Carbide Corp. during the marriage as a chemical lab technician at the Tech Center in South Charleston. He then worked later as a truck driver in Florida, then returned to Charleston and drove truck for several local companies, plus a long-haul company, J.B. Hunt. He also worked as an in-hone caregiver for Stevenson Corp. In 2001, he married Tammy Smith - they too later divorced after several years.
Jace was a very kind, easy-going person, who was always smiling, always friendly, never spoke harshly of anyone, and never used profanity. He loved everyone, he was alway respectful, and also loved all animals. (We are sure anyone who knew Jace would express these very same thoughts of him.)
Prceding him in death ws a sister-in-law, Rebecca Patton.
Jace leaves leaves his utterly heartbroken parents, three loving brothers: Harold and Shannon (Kim) of the Sissonville area and Brian (Tammy) of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews, and several close friends, and his dog. (He loved to frolic with his dog, Jasmine, and visit friends and play his guitar.) He also leaves two daughters, Megan Bowman (C.J.) and Nicole Taverez (Tim); and grandson, Liam Taverez (1 year old); all whom he loved very dearly.
Jace is a member of a very, very close knit family, spread far and wide. We will always, always, recall the precious moments and joy we spent with you and fervently hope to spend more with you someday.
