Hubert Harold Wickline, 85, of Sissonville departed this life on June 15, 2012, to join his late wife of 56 years, Nelma June "Ashby" Wickline. He was born March 21, 1927, to the late George and Della Wickline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Wickline; and brother, Eugene Wickline.
He is leaving behind a legacy of his life's work, accomplishments, love and most of all memories to daughter, Charlotte Dixie Wickline of Charleston; sons, William Harold Wickline of Sissonville, and Dewy Ray Wickline of Charleston. He is also survived by sisters, Nelma Hawkins of Missouri, Sue Good, Geraldine Jackson and Donna Harper, all of Sissonville, and Virginia Jackson of Charleston. Memories of our papaw will be carried on and cherished in the hearts of his six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Harold was a retiree of Union Carbide, where he was employed for over 40 years. He was a loving, caring, kind hearted man who had the ability to make you feel welcome, whether family or stranger. He enjoyed family gatherings, four wheeling, vacationing, and car shows. He was an average man with simple ways, but to his family, he was anything but average. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
