Hubert "Sherman" Paul Estep, 68, of Charleston departed this earthly life on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Sissonville. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Helen Smith in 1988.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, Sandra K. Estep; daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Helen Shelton of Charleston; and grandson, Charles Shelton Jr. of Charleston. His greatest accomplishment in life was raising his daughter in the beauty of holiness, and watching her go forth.
Before his disability in 1983, he worked for the State of West Virginia's Health Department in South Charleston.
Prior to his progressing disability he attended services at North Charleston Apostolic Church (Pastor Anderson) and Open Door Apostolic Church (the Rev. B.J. Sowards).
Funeral service will be 11a.m. Tuesday at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home with Elder Charles Shelton and Minister Chris Elswick officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Gardens of Memories in Pocatalico.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home.
