Hildred Nadine (Lanham) Ashby, 92, of Charleston passed away on December 29, 2022 at Ravenswood Care Center.

Nadine was born December 11, 1930 in Charleston to the late Gervis "Gove" and Lettie Jane (Smith) Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Lanham, and Alvin Ashby; sisters, Phyllis Anderson, Freddie Anderson, Isabel "Iby" Scragg, and Joyce Carpenter.

Nadine retired from General Motors Corporation. She was a member of Kanawha Two Mile Gospel Tabernacle where she taught Sunday School for several years.

She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Vance (Charles); nieces, Bethan Daley (Keith), and Charla Magna (Mark) all of Ohio; nephews, Chad Carpenter (Aimee), and Nathan Carpenter (Laura) all of Charleston; step-daughters, Cynthia Ashby of Ohio, Sonya Ashby of Parkersburg, and Reni King (Dennis) of North Carolina; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 2, 2023 at Floral Hills Garden of Memories Mausoleum Chapel, Sissonville with Pastor David S. Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the Mausoleum Chapel.
