Herman B. Boggess, 83, of Sissonville went on to be with his Lord January 26, 2010.
Herman was born April 19, 1926, was a Navy veteran, retired from the Bell Lines and was a life long community pastor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nobel Gordon and Bessie Boggess; foster son, Edward Spencer; and grandson, James "Kevin" Boggess.
Left to cherish his memory are wife of 66 years, Naomi "Betty" Helen Boggess; sons, David L. Boggess and his wife, Mary, Rickey J Boggess and his wife, Debbie, all of Sissonville, Thomas B. Boggess of Tornado, Charles G. Boggess and his wife, Greta, of Leon; daughters, Elizabeth A. Boggess and her husband, Larry, of Sissonville, Linda K. Drake and her husband, Joe, of Gandeville; foster daughter, Emma Young of Dunbar; sisters, Geraldine Hildebrand of Dunbar, and Maxine Knight of Florida; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Friday January 29 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Doyle Young officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
