Obituary

Harry Fenton Buckalew, 88, of Goldtown went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 11, 2011 at his home.
He was born December 31, 1922 in Charleston and was the son of the late Floyd Wesley and Dorothy Iva Sayre Buckalew. Harry graduated from Ripley High in 1940. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and the Army Reserve. He retired from the U.S. Post Office as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Postal Service Center and in his position he served 1,108 post offices. He also worked at Stone and Thomas Department Store as the maintenance manager.
Harry was preceded in death by his sisters, Losha Withrow and Inez Bailey; brothers, Marshall and Robert Floyd.
Left to cherish his memory are wife, Hazel Casdorph Buckalew; son, Robert Buckalew and his wife, Emma Jean; daughter, Rebecca England and her husband, Dwane; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Buckalew.
The Funeral Service will be 1pm Monday, May 16 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Reverend Aaron Finney officiating and military honors provided by the American Legion Post 61, Clendenin. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
