Harold Houston Mooney, 92, of Charleston passed away November 13, 2008 at home.
Harold was the son of Fred Mooney, who''s autobiography, is "Struggle in the Coal Fields" which resides in the WVU library. Harold traveled internationally as an expeditor for Union Carbide. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and was a member of Lodge #20, Charleston. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Charleston. Harold was also a member of the Saturday Morning Pool Club at the Smokehouse.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mina Virginia Mooney who died in 2001.
He is survived by: children, Harold Phillip Mooney of Austin, Texas, Jeffery Lee Mooney of Charleston, and Christine Mooney Frazier of Lake Mary, Florida; sister, Twila Mooney of Fairmont; brothers, David Norman Mooney of California, Gregg, and Douglas Mooney both of Atlanta, Georgia, Keith Victor, and Forrest Mooney both of Ohio; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and sixteen great great grandchildren, and several great great great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be 1pm Monday, November 17 at Calvary Baptist Church, Charleston with Rev. Mark Newland officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
A gathering of friends and family will be two hours prior to the service at the church.
