Obituary

Romie Harless "Harley" Patton, 64, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 15, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 28, 1945, in Tad and was the son of the late Henry and Lilly Patton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Patton.
He was a member and deacon of New Testament Community Church. He was employed by Atkinson Builders and McCloy Construction.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Alice Patton; daughters: Sherry Boggs and husband, Mark, of Scott Depot and Amy Jo Young and husband, SFC Russ Young, who is serving in Afghanistan, of Eleanor; grandchildren, Allyson Hawley and Gabriel Boggs of Scott Depot and Greyson Harley Young of Eleanor; brothers, Randall Patton and wife, Gyndola, Roger Patton and wife, Wanda, and Rick Patton, all of Charleston; and sisters, Jo Ann Long of Kenna, Geraldine Kay Whiting and her husband, Jarrell, and Janet Sue Baldwin and husband, Raymond, of Charleston. He will be sadly missed by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor John Henderson and Pastor Robert Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Sissonville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
