GRETA PHYLLIS BLANKENSHIP, of South Charleston, WV, beloved wife and sister, passed away September 17, 2025, at home at the age of 85. She was born on March 18, 1940, in Charleston, WV, to the late Rabert Walker and Edana Walker. Phyllis lived a life full of kindness, strength and love for all of those around her. She married George H. Blankenship on February 24, 1968. Phyllis graduated from Sissonville High School. She retired from West Virginia Workers Compensation after 31 years of service.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by brother Norman Walker; niece Michelle Manker; and Nephew Thomas Walker.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Anna Bernice Manker (Phil); brother Orville Walker (Dollie); niece Beth Miller (Chad); great nephew Jordan Wehrle; and great-great nephew Kohen Wehrle.
We want to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to her care givers, Summer Burdette, Haleigh Chavez and Johannah Hallan, who cared for her over the past 30 days, along with Hospice Services.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Al Mendez. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. before the service.
