Glenn Edward Bird Jr., 73, of Sissonville died February 26, 2009, at CAMC Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born August 26,1935, in Roane County to the late Glen E. Bird and Prussia Carper Bird.
Glenn was a Christian and attended Fisher Chapel Church. Before his illness his favorite pastime was restoring antique cars. He was a member of Nitro Antique Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Gwinn Bird of Sissonville; sons, Steve and his wife Pam of Kenna, and Chris and his wife Lisa of Glenwood; and his daughter, Cathy of Charlotte, N.C. Glenn's grandchildren are Andrew, Erin, Lacy and Haley. He is also survived by his brother, Larry K. Bird and wife Libby of Teays Valley.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville.
Service will also be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2009. Pastors David Peters and David Spencer will be officiating. Burial will be at the Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Sissonville.
Glenn will be missed, not only by his family, but also by many friends.
