Gary Leon Halstead, 62, of Kenna passed away December 12, 2008 at home after a short illness.
Gary retired from SJCPSD with 22 years service. He enjoyed working on atv''s and motorcycles, and loved growing flowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Ova Halstead.
Survived by: wife, Sharlene Halstead at home; children and their spouses, Jimmy and Samantha Halstead, and Lisa and Chris Comer all of Kenna; sisters and their spouses, Connie and Buford Brown of Duck, and Rhonda and Dorsel Casto of Kenna; brothers and their spouses, Fairley V. and Betty Halstead of Ripley, and Eddie and Sandra Halstead of Liberty; grandson, Dakota Comer at home; numerous nieces and nephews; and several beloved pets.
The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Rev. Stanley Shaffer officiating, and eulogy by Fairley V. Halstead. Burial will follow in Halstead Cemetery, Dog Fork, Kenna.
A gathering of friends and family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
