Gary Allan Coffman, (66), went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving wife and daughter on October 2, 2016. Those who knew Gary, knew that he was a devoted husband, the epitome of what a father should be and one of the kindest human beings you will ever meet.
He worked for over 35 years as a construction worker through the WV Laborers Union Local 1353 with various employers and retiring with Elco Mechanical in 2010. His building talents can be witnessed among many of West Virginia''s landmarks, including the Greenbrier. Of all his attributes, his kindness to strangers is what set him apart from others. He has helped numerous strangers in times of need when others looked away; from carrying groceries to giving someone a battery jump. He was one in a million.
Gary is loved dearly by his wife of 39 years, Marsha Coffman, and the light of his life, his daughter Rachel Coffman. He was born on January 31, 1950 to James Harding Coffman and Catherine Coffman, both deceased. He is survived by his three siblings; Rita Jarrett, Randy Coffman and his wife Jennifer Coffman, and Kevin Coffman and his wife Karen Coffman; his nephews Casey Jarrett his wife Julie Jarrett, Tanner Coffman, Ethan Lauchart, and Hayden Jarrett; his nieces Leah Lauchart her husband Terry Lauchart, Kinzy Coffman, Marlee Mentz and Haley Jarrett. He is preceded in death by his sister Joyce Coffman and nephews Corey Jarrett and James Mentz. Also, he was loved dearly by his Great Aunt Hallie Coffman Little and Grandmother Rhoda Mae Presson.
