Gary Hudson Boggess, 68, of Trenton, Michigan, died suddenly Sunday, June 10, 2007 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan from a massive stroke.
Gary was a native of Sissonville, and a 1957 graduate of Sissonville High School. He had planned to retire from General Motors this year and return to his beloved West Virginia to live.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lud H. and Nora Gibson Boggess, long time residents of Sissonville.
He is survived by his wife, Annette of Trenton; Daughter, Melissa Louwers and her husband Sean and granddaughters, Madison and Morgan Louwers of Macomb, Michigan; Step-son, Craig Moon and his wife Denise and step-grandchildren, Autumn and Jason Moon of Dayton, Ohio; Sister, Janet Welch and her husband Edwin of Charleston; Aunt, Martha Robertson of Portsmouth, Virginia; Numerous cousins and many friends in the Charleston area.
Known for his warm, open personality, Gary will be deeply mourned and sorely missed by his family, friends, and co-workers at the Pontiac GM Opdyke Assembly Center where he was employed for many years.
The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Gary''s brother-in-law Dr. Edwin Welch officiating. Burial will follow at John Beane Cemetery, Sissonville where Gary will be laid to rest next to his parents. Friends may call 6-8p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
