Friedel Monk, 88, of Hurricane passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014.

Friedel Margaretha Schaller Monk was born in Walldorf, Baden Germany on September 20, 1925 to the late Willi Schaller and Liesel Willinger Schaller. She married Kermit Monk on July 22, 1948.

She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses Winfield Congregation, and enjoyed her family, and special dog, Inky.

Friedel is survived by her husband, Kermit Monk, of Hurricane. She is also survived by her three children; Gary Monk (Camille Armstrong), of Hurricane; Jimmy Monk (Donna), of Charleston; and Susan Moore, of Proctorville, Ohio; one niece, Burgel Kaustraeter, of Pacifica, CA; and seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Heinze and Erwin Schaller.

Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11am at Long and Fisher Funeral Home with Alex Flores officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
