Frederick D. Taylor
Frederick Delano Taylor, 68, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 3, 2008, after a long illness. He was a Christian and a member of North Hills Baptist Church. Freddie retired from the Kanawha County Board of Education maintenance department in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents, Opie and Mary Arietta Layne Taylor. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Sue Portz Taylor; sons, Allen and wife, Tina, and Mark and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Nicholas A. Taylor, and wife, Sheri, and Elizabeth S. Taylor; great grandchildren, Peyton and Faith Taylor; and sisters, Janet Duffield and Shirley Graley; and brothers, John Taylor, Bill Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Donald Taylor, Clayton Taylor, David Taylor, Jim Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Tom Taylor and Joe Taylor, all of the Charleston area. Freddie loved the outdoors, especially coon hunting and cutting grass. The family wishes to thank the staff of CAMC Memorial Division, Greater Charleston Dialysis and the Hubbard Hospice House for the wonderful care Freddie received. The service will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., July 5 at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Harper and Rev. David Taylor officiating Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
