Frank Joe Conley, 63, of Sissonville, WV died at home January 30. 2009, after a short illness. Frank was born February 26, 1945 in Summersville, WV, where he lived most of his childhood.
He graduated from Mount Carmel High School, KY. After returning to WV, he attended Morris Harvey College and graduated with a degree in elementary education and a Masters in special education from WV College of Graduate Studies.
Frank was formerly an active member of the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department with over 15 years of service, while also working as a part time EMT at Duff Ambulance.
After retiring from teaching special education at Kanawha County Schools, Frank returned to work as a truck driver for Quick Delivery Service at Nitro, WV.
He truly loved his hobby as an Amateur Radio Operator and had the Call sign of KC8OZY.
Frank is best described for his ability to talk to anybody he met. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Ora Conley, brother Philip Conley, all of Summersville.
Frank was a devoted husband, loving father, and took great joy in his grandson.
Frank is survived by his wife of 39 years Penny Conley, his children Kevin Conley and Shawna Kendrick and her husband Shawn, one grandson, Shea Michael Kendrick, all of Sissonville. Surviving sisters: Annalee Short of Madison and Della Dorsey of Maryland.
Children of a previous marriage include Brian Conley of Dunbar and a daughter Lisa. The family would like to thank April Conley of Nitro for her dedication, love, and support over the years. All his friends and family will miss Him dearly, including his faithful dog, Sareph.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday February 3, 2009 at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Gardens of Memories, Pocatalico.
