IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn Christine
Heidenreich
June 10, 1939 – June 21, 2022
Evelyn Christine Heidenreich, 83, passed away peacefully at HospiceCare at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, WV, with her son, William, and daughter-in- law Kelly, by her side on June 21, 2022. Evelyn was born on June 10, 1939, the daughter of Alfred and Christine Winchenback Clifford in Bristol, Maine. Evelyn graduated from Boothbay High School and went on to join the Women's Army Corp's. Her military service took her to Germany, the Pentagon, and Fort Huachuca, AZ. After serving our county, Evelyn worked for the Department of Agriculture. While working for USDA, she lived in Greenwood. IN., Sissonville, WV, Harrisburg, PA, and Gainesville. FL., until she retired. She was a fearless, strong, independent woman devoted to raising her only son on her own, as well as taking on the role of caregiver for her mother after her retirement. Evelyn and her mother would make many trips to Waldoboro, ME in the summers to visit family and friends and playing bingo. Evelyn loved to play bingo, go to flea markets and shop at any yard sale within 50 miles. She collected lighthouses, Santas, angels, Fenton Glass, and plates. Evelyn was a benevolent soul and loved to give gifts whenever she visited family. She always had some kind of Christmas gift for her relatives, usually her treasures from her adventures or
from her love of gadgets from infomercials or HSN. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Clifford, and Christine Clifford as well as
her sister, Josephine Hinds. Evelyn is survived by her son, William Heidenreich and wife, Kelly of Charleston, West Virginia; her sister, Nancy Gorden of Waldoboro, Maine; brothers, Roger Clifford and wife, Betsy of Englewood, Florida, and David Clifford and wife, Cecile of Boothbay, Maine; her granddaughter, Jillian Haynes and Husband, Greg; grandson, Lee Greuber and fiancé, Kanisha Booker, and her two great-granddaughters, Clara and Autumn Haynes. In lieu of funeral services, and to honor the giving nature of Evelyn, we ask that memorial donations be made to https://www.hospicecarewv.org/make-a-donation/
