Obituary

Ernest C. Bumgardner, 80 of Sissonville went to be with the Lord August 9, 2008 in St. Francis Hospital after a short illness.
He served in the Army during WWII having received the WWII Victory Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal. Ernest was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 175, for over 50 years. He retired from Eazor Express Trucking Company, then worked part time for Pinkerton Security at St. Francis Hospital and Accordia.
He was preceded in death by parents: Cleda G. and Wavie Helen Bumgardner; and Brothers, Billy, Edward, and Kenneth "Jackie" Bumgardner.
Survived by: loving wife of 60 years, Margaret G. Bumgardner of Sissonville; Sons, Butch Bumgardner and his wife Sherilyn of Weirton, and Ralph Bumgardner and his wife Trena of Charleston; Daughter, Glynis Schmidt of Charleston; Grandchildren, Mike and Danielle Bumgardner, Chris and Beth Bumgardner, Beth Ann and Danny Van Bibber, and Errich Schmidt; Great Granddaughter, Hailey Bumgardner; Sister, Virginia Page and her husband Gerald of Cross Lanes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Monday, August 11 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Rev. Buddy Mairs officiating. Military honors will be provided by the WV Army National Guard Honor Guard, South Charleston. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. A gathering of friends and family will be 5-7pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.
