Elsie Maynard Ellis, 88, of Ripley, WV formerly of Ocala, FL; passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2015 at CAMC Memorial.

Born March 27, 1927 in Crum, WV; she was the daughter of the late W.S. Maynard and Virgie Alley Maynard. Elsie was a graduate of Marshall University. She retired from teaching in Mingo County after 30 years. Elsie enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with her great grand children.

She will be missed by her two children, George Ellis ( his wife, Barbara) of Ocala FL, and Brenda Hatfield (her husband Marcus Craig) of Spencer, WV; four grandchildren, Billie Dawn Toler, Marki Walls, Craig Hatfield, and Shayne Ellis; five great grandchildren, Kaylee Toler, Kinsey Toler, Craig Hatfield, III, Lydia Hatfield, and Waylon Walls; and her dog, Jedi.

Funeral services will be held at 7pm on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation two hours prior to service. Pastor Jack Miller will be officiating.

Graveside service will be at 10:30am on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Florida National Cemetery in Ocala, FL
