Ella Mae Monday, 78, of Sissonville went home to be with Jesus on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston after a long illness. Born October 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Mae Harrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lynn Monday.
She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended church at Community Chapel Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Carroll Monday; daughter, Joy (Doug) Holbrook of Scott Depot; sons, Jay of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jerry (Vickie) of Alum Creek; sister, Jo-Ann (Darrell) Parsons of Byesville, Ohio; brothers, John (Gail) Harrison and Jim (Susan) Harrison, all of Sissonville. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Conn officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston.
