Edward B. Shearer, 77, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord May 28, 2009 at home after a long illness.
Edward was retired from McJunkin Corporation with 27 years service. He also had 12 years service with Virginia Welding. Edward loved camping, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by: parents, infant son, and a sister, Irene O''Reilly.
Survived by: loving wife of 57 years, Bertha Shearer at home; children, Sandra Gibson and her husband, Gary, of Sissonville, James Shearer, and Karen Shearer both of South Charleston, and Diana Wheeler and her husband, Larry, of Fayetteville; sister, Arbutus Taylor and her husband, Romie, of Walton; grandchildren, Keith Gibson, Melinda Anderson, Brian Wheeler, and Kevin Wheeler; and five great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be 3pm Sunday, May 31 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Carl Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers from HospiceCare for their wonderful care of Edward.
