Edna Irene Asbury, 81, left us on April 20, 2019 at Hospice Hubbard House, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy Joe" J. Asbury, her little Zimar; and her parents, Robert and Stella Eads.

Edna leaves behind her four children, William "Bill" J. Asbury, Jr. (Tara), Rita Faye Haynes, Debbie Lee Thaxton (Somi) and Donald Eugene Asbury (Todd); two sisters, Norma Lee Wright and Mary Ann Harrison (Cliff);

seven grandchildren, Travis R. Asbury (Jennifer), Chad J. Haynes (Tracy), Clint A. Thaxton (Tori), Bradford W. Haynes, Marvin Craig Thaxton, Wendy Dawn Landers, Colten Gauge Asbury; and 18 great grandchildren.

She was precious to so many. Edna loved traveling with her daughter, Somi and had been on two cruises recently. She loved life, but missed her soul mate terribly. Edna was a member of Derricks Creek Community Church. She loved the Lord.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Hospice Hubbard House for the loving care and friendship they gave our mother, she loved you all.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Travis Asbury will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow after the service at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
