Edna Gene Ray "Eulagene", 87, of Goldtown, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at CAMC Memorial.

Born April 2, 1927 in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Holly Otis and Leatha Louise Lanham Ashby.

Eulagene was a member of Pleasant View Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. Ray, Sr; son, John Mayford Ray II; brother, Adrian Ashby; sister, Nelma June Wickline; and grandson, Nathan Wisniewski.

Eulagene is survived by a son, James E. Ray, Jr. and his wife Sandra; daughters, Corliss Thomas and her husband Lew, Janette Shafer and her husband Johnny, and Irma Mitzie Rival; brother, Alvin Ashby; sisters, Evangeline Myers and Sarah Ashby; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be at 1pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor Allen "Butch" Thompson officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Ashby Cemetery; 842 Clearview Rd. Kenna, WV.
