Dorothy Frances Harless Fields, 89, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 10, 1925 in Boone County, she was the daughter of the late Lyburn "LB" and Belva Brown Harless.

Dorothy was a lifetime member of Chandler Dr. Church of God. She was one of the original Rosie the Riveter.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Sylvester Clark Fields; a daughter, Brenda Fields Carroll; and five brothers, George W Harless, John W. Harless, Lyburn B. Harless Jr, Fred R Harless, and Lois Whitenack.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Clark (Carla) Fields of Big Chimney, Rev. Richard A (Debi) Fields of Port St Lucie, FL; siblings, Marie Brogan of Kanawha City, Lydia (Delbert) Ludwig of Ripley, James H (Beverly) Harless of Charleston, Charles (Deloris) Harless of St Albans, Sandra (Bucky) Trail of Princeton; six grandchildren: Jamie McGlothlin of Rhinebeck, NY,
Shannon (Kevin) Kirk of Mechanicsville, VA, Michelle (Ron) Myers of Sebring, FL, Heather Messer of Sebring, FL, Lucinda (Shawn) Rice of Springfield, OH, Brian Fields of Los Angeles, CA; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Patricia Reed Meadows and Harold Parsons of Charleston.

Funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Rev. Richard Fields, Rev. David McCormick, and Rev. Tim Warden will be officiating.

Interment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Helping Hands in Motion, Inc. 743 NW Biscayne Dr., Port St. Lucie, FL 34983-1507. Proceeds will go towards building a church facility in honor of Clark and Dorothy Fields.
