Donald R. "Duck" Miller, 75, of Goldtown passed away February 12, 2013 at CAMC General with his family by his side after a sudden illness.
Duck graduated from South Charleston High School class of 1955. He also graduated from Morris Harvey College. He served four years in the United States Navy and retired from Traffic Engineering division of the Department of Highways.
Duck was preceded in death by his parents, H.F. and Grace Miller; two brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are loving wife of 40 years, Donna Miller at home; daughters, Terri Kaufmann (Brad) of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Kathy King (Don) of Zanesville, OH; sons, Donald R. Miller II of For Mills, S.C. and Bruce Miller (Raechelle) of Sissonville; loving sister, Mary Asseff (Philip) of South Charleston; brother, Ronald S. Miller (Kay) of Edgewater, FL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and the SCHS class of 1955.
Funeral service will be noon Friday, February 15 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Spring Cemetery, Kenna.
A gathering of family and friends will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 86 County Farm Road, Cottageville, WV 25239.
