Deo Lorente Picart, 73, of Charleston passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after battling cancer. He was a retired chemist who worked for the WV Dept. Agriculture. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Deo traveled the world and enjoyed taking cruises. He loved Jesus and was a Christian.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Mario "Pyx" Picart, and Cesar Picart; nieces and nephews, Hazeline, Maureen, Michael Jonathan, Raymond, Michote, Mark, Karen, and Beverley; oldest friend, Richard Wickline (Lummie); special friends and coworkers, Charles Dransfield, Robert Nichols, Emory Haynes, Dr. Arthur Jalil, Meruia Yu, Dr. Margaret Ng, and Joe Baker; loving neighbor, Joyce Kaufman and her family; and host of other friends and family. Deo is preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Luz Picart; brother, Paquito Picart; sister, Yvonne Picart; niece, Yvonne; and good friend, Bill Flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, February, 24, 2021 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Bill Jones will be officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories. Arrangements entrusted to Long & Fisher Funeral Home.
