Denver Milam, 101, of Kenna, WV passed away peaceful after a long illness at his home on Sunday, March 16, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 9, 1913, he was the son of the late Walter Allen Milam and Margaret Berry Milam.
Denver was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. In his spare time he enjoyed reading. Denver was a man of many talents and vocations.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Sayre Milam; a son, Walter Lee Milam; a grandson, Jonathan Corey Smith; three brothers, Shelvie Milam, Shockey Milam, Guy Milam; four sisters, Rona Cart, Frona Comer, Beulah Davis, Corina Comer.
Denver is survived by three daughters, Edith Comer (Kenna, WV), Beatrice Coffman (Ripley, WV), Mary Smith and her husband Kip (Kenna, WV); two sons, Phillip Milam and his wife Irene (Kenna, WV), and Denver Sisson (Ripley, WV); a brother, Otho Milam (Kenna, WV); 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Long and Fisher Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 7 to 9pm.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home at 1pm with Pastor David Spencer and Rev. Jarrold Lanham officiating.
Interment will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
