Obituary

Surrounded by her family, Delilah "Sue" Pinkerton peacefully entered heaven on December 23, 2025. The world was a brighter place after she was born on April 2, 1954, in Iaeger, WV to the late Walter Eugene Blankenship & Georgie Lee Russ. A 1972 graduate of Pineville High School Sue continued her education through WVU to become a medical technician. For more than 20 years she aided in the care of residents of Mullens and Pineville at Wyoming General, Dr. Mikkilineni's office, and the Pineville Children's Clinic.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Rosie Mullens, brothers Wayne and Eddie Blankenship and husbands Billy Smith and Curtis Jackson.

Sue's journey through life guided her to Sissonville WV where she was blessed to become a part of the Pinkerton family. She married Michael "Mickey" Pinkerton on January 22, 2018. Mickey and Sue were inseparable and shared a bond of love and devotion that most would envy. Sue loved to travel, sing, dance, and make people laugh. You couldn't beat her at trivia or word games.

Left to miss her dearly are her husband Michael Pinkerton, brothers Pete Blankenship of Welch and Eugene Blankenship of Beckley, children Melanie "Mandy" (Ben) Whelan of Oak Hill, Crystal "Crissy" (Jared) Gray of Charleston, Shayne (Shawna) Pinkerton of Charleston, Lisa Pinkerton-Johnson of Charleston, Eric (Jessica) Pinkerton of Sissonville, and Beverly (Michael) Best of Bossier City Louisiana, grandchildren Adalay Gray, Liam Whelan, Lyla Whelan, Austin and Kristen Crawford, Reagan and Luke Frampton, Karli and Tommy Parrish, Michael and Gracie Pinkerton, Hasten Pinkerton, Easton Pinkerton, Emily Rose and Jackson Warren, great grandchildren Eva and Tate Parrish, Kooper Frampton, and Georgia Crawford, her fur child Mikey G, and her closest friend and chosen sister Diane Brooks-Smith.

If you knew Sue, we are sure you have fond memories or a funny story, hold onto those, and share them with others when you get a chance. Sue would not want you to cry at her loss but rather laugh in her memory. At Sue's request there will be a private family service in the near future.

The family would like to thank Long & Fisher Funeral Home for the arrangement of Sues' wishes and the doctors and nursing staff at Charleston Memorial 5th floor CPICU for the excellent care.
