October 26, 1946 - September 26, 2020

David M Thompson 73 of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning September 26, 2020 at CAMC Memorial.

David was a CPL in the United States Marines from 1966-1972 receiving the Nation Defense Medal.  He was a teamster trucker for over 40 years.  Most Importantly he was Angela's Daddy and loved being Papa Dave to his great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ward & Hazel Thompson, beloved wife of 30 years Denise Lynn Thompson and their Dalmatian Mutley.

David will be deeply missed by his daughter Angela (Tony)Jenkins, Grandchildren Tiffany Jones & Rickey (Kara) Jones. Great Grandchildren Gunner, Maxeigh & Mila. Bereaved by Companion Sue Cowling.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Bill Bartlett will be officiating. Interment will follow at Donel C. Kinnard State Veterans Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 masks are required and social distanced must be practiced.
