David Michael Thomas, 73, of Dunbar, passed away on December 24, 2022. Born May 6, 1949 in Charleston, he was the son of the late Garrell Eugene and Billie Jo Coleman Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Thomas and brother, Gary Thomas. David was a loving and caring father and grandfather who loved to tell jokes. He enjoyed going to the Smokehouse in Charleston to eat and socialize with friends. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Thomas of Wheeling and Kathy Thomas of Charleston; grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Alex Baldwin, Justin Baldwin, Tristan Baldwin, Alyssa Sigmon, Brittany Thomas, Christina Rife and Kayden Thomas; great-grandchildren, Landen Ruckh and several other great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Jeff Thomas, Rick Thomas, and Linda Thomas. A Celebration of David's life will be held at a later date. Long and Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
