Obituary

David Junior Moss walked through heavens pearly gates to enter his eternal home, and be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, early Thursday morning June 13, 2024. Waiting for him as the gates opened were his brothers and sisters, who he was overjoyed to greet and tell all about what they had missed. His days of pain, confusion, and yearning were over, as there is no suffering in Heaven. David is now strolling down the golden streets, talking to all that pass by just so he can speak another word. Although we have lost our loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, we can be at peace knowing he'll have everyone gathered, waiting for us, as we enter Heaven one by one, and greeting us with the biggest smiles and tightest hugs.  David was born February 1st, 1951 to the late Dave and Dorthy Moss. He grew up surrounded by his 8 loving siblings, all which preceded him in death; sister, Faye Burdette; sister, Linda (Toby) Burdette; sister, Norma Jean (Norman) Walker; sister, Ruth McFarland; sister, Wilma "sis" (Kenneth) Taylor; brother, Harold (Betty) Moss; brother, Noble (Wilma) Moss; and brother, "Shorty" Moss. Also preceded in death by his great grandchild Braniah Smith.  In September of 1978, David was working as a truck driver for Commercial Lovelace, when he met and fell in love with his forever soulmate, Diana (Graves) Moss. They married on May 5th, 1979. He is survived by their beloved three children, daughter, Tamara "Janette" (Chad) Snyder, of Defuniak Springs, FL; son, Aaron (Crissy) Moss, of Cross Lanes, WV; daughter, Brittany (Tommy) Wiseman, of Sissonville, WV; and his two sons, John "JD" (Farima) Moss, of ND, and Paul (Tracy) Wiseman, of NC. David was overjoyed to grandfather 16 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, with one other great grandchild on the way.  David was a member of Union Valley Gospel Tabernacle, where he devoted his life to Jesus Christ, and worshipped together with his brothers and sisters in the church. He was a strong willed, and dedicated man, that had a lot of love to give, and was always lending a helping hand to his community.  At a young age, David owned his very own roofing and construction business.  On May 19, 1982, he and his wife opened a used car lot, D&D Motors, where they would go on to forever work together in Sissonville, WV. The business strived, and in 1989 became D&D Auto, when they added a service repair garage, and later a towing service. The business remained open for 36 years before retirement.  When David went home, he took a piece of our hearts with him. To know him, was to love him. Although not prepared for such an event, we cherish and hold on to what he's taught us, for it is well enough to continue on our own now. And, although we know that missing piece will be put back together again as we meet in heaven someday, we ask ourselves, "Who's gonna fill his shoes"? All of the memories of tractor rides, wrecker service calls, family vacations, ball games, races, camping trips, and back porch rocking. Each of those moments had a purpose, a learning lesson, that he guided us through. As we grew older, he continued to show us the way, and stood by our side. Taking what we have learned from him, we now understand, it is his kids, and grandkids, that are now left to fill his shoes forever. As we celebrate his life here on earth, we say to him, "We'll be okay now Daddy, you can let go, we think we're ready, to make it on our own."
