If you knew David, you know he had a boisterous and contagious laugh. He enjoyed coaching little league sports in Sissonville for many years and adored the children who participated. An avoid golfer, sports fan, and devoted Cincinnati Reds fan, David dominated many fantasy sports competitions. He was retired from Nestle’ Foods, was a Sissonville Lions Club member, and frequently attended Aldersgate Methodist Church.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Phyllis, and his sons David Robert (Deanna) Edens Jr. , Gregory (Anita) Edens, Mitchell (Erika) Edens, six grandchildren, Greg Edens, Jacob Edens, Shawn Edens, Jack Ryan Edens, Alec Edens, Amber Hinken, and seven great-grandchildren. His brothers, Stevie (Patty) Edens, and Carol (Pat) Edens.

David is proceeded into death and welcomed into Heaven by his father and mother, Robert and Garnett, his son, Tracey Edens, step-daughter, Jamie Sowards, grandson, Zach Sowards, granddaughter, McKenna Edens, brothers, Willis Edens and Tommy Edens, and sisters, Dolly Edens and Betty Ann Holden.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Long and Fisher Funeral home in Sissonville on Monday, June 29, 2026, with visitation 11 am-1 pm prior to service. Pastor, Mike Shinn from Aldersgate United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sissonville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sissonville Lions Club.
