David Nile Baldwin, 73, of Sissonville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 10, 1952, David was the beloved son of the late Haskel Baldwin and Dollie Fay Shafer Baldwin.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, David is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Esther Baldwin; his cherished daughter, Angela (Angie) Derrick, and son -in-law Jeff Derrick of Sissonville; and his granddaughters, Kacie and Cierra Haynes, who he loved and adored beyond measure.
David was one of seven children and is survived by his brothers Louie Baldwin, Raymond (Sue) Baldwin, Tim (Shari) Baldwin, and his sister Sharon Jones. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry Baldwin, and George Elvis (Elvie) Baldwin.
He proudly retired from his career as a school bus driver in Kanawha County, where he dedicated many years of hard work and service to his community. David will forever be remembered by the endearing strength of his will, the commitment he made to his family, and the quiet support and generosity he offered to his loved ones.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that David is now at peace in his eternal home, reunited with loved ones and held in the everlasting embrace of God's grace. David's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29th at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Shively Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12 -1:00 p.m. before the service.
