Obituary

Darrell Wickline, age 65, tragically departed this life on the 15 th of January following a sudden illness.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he grew up in the small community of Millertown where he spent his early years alongside his brothers and his cousins. He attended Sissonville High School then began working with his brother Henry as an automotive mechanic and developed a passion for street racing.
Darrell then became a Boilermaker and after spending many years in that trade, began work in manufacturing where he remained until he became disabled. He was a quiet charismatic with a quick country wit that could make anyone laugh and smile. He taught us all that you cannot always take life too seriously and that sometimes all you can do in a bad situation is grin, laugh, and love those you have.
His greatest joy was taking care of those he loved, fixing things, watching police dramas, and gardening. Darrell was preceded in death by: his parents, Henry Everette and Minnie Mae Wickline (née Gibeaut); his brother, Henry Ray Wickline; his second wife, Mitzi Moffatt; and his third wife, Rosemary Wickline.
Darrell is lovingly remembered by: his son, Brandon Wickline of Morgantown WV; his eldest brother Richard Wickline and spouse Marilyn of Wilkes-Barre PA; three nieces, Nicki Helmick, Chasidy Wickline, and Shannon Benesky; several great and great-grand nephews and nieces, his partner Heather Bowman; and two young ladies he treated as daughters, Ella Betler and Andrea Hubbard.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and chaplains at Camden Clark Medical Center for their care and compassion shown to Darrell in his final days.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring - dates to be announced.
