Dareen "Dee" Wines, 82, passed away peacefully November 5, 2024, in her home at Bufflick, West Virginia. Dareen was a graduate of Sissonville High School and retired from Verizon, where she was known for "running the floor in high heels."

Dareen loved life, games of set-back, strawberry ice cream, impromptu drawing contests with family, laughing, was sharp and engaged until her last day on earth, and provided a home full of fun and love. And could she ever bake. Banana bread, lemon cake, graham cracker pie, were just a few of her specialties.

Dareen was preceded in death by her parents, Denver and Dorothy Burdette, siblings Charlene Burdette, Shirley Burdette, Leon Burdette, Evelyn Parsons, and Glenn Burdette, and by her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Arlage, the love of her life, with whom she is eternally reunited.

Dareen is survived by her children Eugene and Lisa, grandchildren Zachary Wines (Mandy), Arlage "Travis" Wines (Jessica), and Carrie Carmelia, as well as great grandchildren Emily, Leah and Levi. She is also survived by her sister Beatrice Gilbert of Lakeland, Florida, a host of nephews and nieces who will remember her fondly, and her cats Bentley and Cherry, whom she rescued and adored.

Dareen was much loved by all who knew her. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled.

Not wanting unnecessary fuss Dareen requested no services. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to your favorite charity.
