Cordella (Connie) Witt Jones, 76, of Sissonville, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, in the care of Kanawha Place, with her family by her side. She was born December 25, 1941, in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Edward Witt and Jane Reed Witt. She was also preceded in death by her brother Chad Witt and her sister Susan Witt Beam.
She is survived by her husband of almost 25 years, Cody R. Jones. She leaves behind son Chad Carrico (Sandra) of Mountain View, CA; son Tim Carrico (Rachel) of Charleston, WV; daughter Stacy Tolbert (Ronnie) of St. Albans, WV; Ryan Jones (Beth) of Charleston, WV and Shannon Milan, of Matthews, NC; her eleven grandchildren, Tristan, Channing, Campion, Dylan, Kaylie, Cara, Madison, Brady, Kennedy, Conner and Colin; sister Amy Klevan (Tom) of Bethel Park, PA; brother-in-law Charles Beam of Eighty-Four, PA; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Many close friends will cherish her memory.
She was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and went on to graduate with honors from West Virginia University in 1962. Connie was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Connie was a gourmet cook, an avid reader and enjoyed gardening with her husband.
The family extends their thanks to the staff at Kanawha Place and Kanawha Hospice Care. Their care and genuine concern was appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, Connie requested donations be made to the scholarship she created with her sisters, in memory of her father, The Charles Edward Witt Memorial Scholarship – donations should designate the Charles Edward Witt Memorial Scholarship (3S606) and be sent to: West Virginia University Foundation, One Waterfront Place – Seventh Floor, P.O. Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507-1650.
